Egyptian Cord-Cutting Ceremony:
Preparation & Aftercare
"Going Before the Grievances"
As you create connections in your life, you weave a web. That web can create stability. It can also stagnate.
This ceremony will revive and refresh your relationships, projects, employments, and your connections to other people, places, and agencies.

How This May Be Different From Cord Cuttings You've Done Before
If you've had cords cut before, you may have focused on one relationship in the present moment.
We'll do something different.
We'll access your timeline to reach the place where the cord was actually formed, where it began. To truly affect where it hurts now. Clearing and healing happen across all of it, not just the part you can currently feel. That's what the statement below makes possible.
And we don't stop at one. Because we've called all the helping spirits present, we can ask for many cords in your life.
I'll guide you through all of it in the session. This page is here to give you a head start.
The statement that makes it all possible:
"I Go Before the Grievances, cutting this cord and setting us free"
You'll repeat this with each cord-cutting.
When you declare that you're cutting the cord before the grievances, you're naming the time before any harm, hurt, disappointment, or grievance occurred. This is what allows us to access all the time fields and places where this cord was created.
A Win for Everyone
The style of cord cutting that I was initiated into is done so that everyone connected wins-no one is harmed in the process.
You each receive freedom. You each have your energy returned to you. Where there was limitation, there's now possibility. We do this by cutting cords from you and from them-releasing the energetic bond on both sides.
I'll guide you through the entire process and support you along the way.
What you are freed from: the limitations, the burdens, the anger, the hurt.
What you keep: all the love, the goodness, and every treasure you've gained.
You Can Cut Cords From People You Love ♥︎
This is the part that stops most people, so let me say it plainly: cutting a cord does not end a relationship, unless that is the intention.
Because of that win-win aspect of this style of cord cutting, we can cut cords from people you still want in your life and still love, including your children. Afterward, you'll create a new intention for those relationships so they can reform in a good way.
Think of cord cutting like laundering or replacing the sheets you sleep in. You're refreshing and rejuvenating the relationship by dismantling the old dynamics between you and beginning again with new intentions.
People, Places, Things, and Agencies
We hold energetic cords to all sorts of things. A bond forms whenever we enter a relationship, by choice or not, and that bond contains your soul's vitality. This is simply how energy works in this world.
So go far beyond the one person who brought you here.
✦
People: an ex-partner, mother, father, family members, spouses, children
Places: a childhood home, a homeland, a sacred place like Hawaii or Stonehenge
Institutions: a workplace, high school, college, administration, government agency
Your own work: projects, performances, anything you poured yourself into
Journal Prompts — Who, What, Where
Now that you know you can cut cords from many more things, I invite you to explore other aspects of your life.
Ponder the questions below and journal about who, what, and where you'd like to cut cords from.
Who do I avoid? Who would I like more ease with? Who do I regret knowing, or am I still angry at? Who do I still daydream about, or feel loss over?
What parts of my life feel like wasted time? The ones where I think, "I'll never get that time, money, or energy back."
Which communities, schools, agencies, or employers am I ready to draw my power back from? Is there one that still brings up bitterness?
What physical places still pull at me? Is there somewhere that feels heavy to imagine returning to?
Any one of these relations can find relief, resolve, and rejuvenation.
Have Something to Cut With
In person, I'll hand you a tool. For virtual sessions, I'll ask you to have one ready.
It doesn't need to be special. A pencil, a chopstick, a piece of wood, a wand-any of these work as your physical cutting implement. We'll activate it together in the session.
What's Actually Happening
The healing spirits of this ceremony clear and cleanse these energetic connections. You receive your soul's essence and personal power back from the relationship, and the other person has the opportunity to reunite with theirs.
This naturally, energetically takes the fight out of it.
You Are Part of This
I'll be guiding you as we go.
I could simply do the work and hand you the result. I don't, because being an active part of your own healing and understanding how it actually works gives the healing so much more power.
You're a participant in this, not someone it's being done to.
You'll know what's happening and why. And you'll leave knowing that something else is possible, and that new opportunities are available to you.
Afterward
Drink water with electrolytes to replenish the body.
Then comes the most important part:
Your New Intentions
This matters as much as the cutting itself.
A clearing of these cords leaves open space, and what fills that space is what you intend.
So every relationship you want, or know will, stay in your life needs a new intention from you, deliberately made.
Intend the quality of relationship you'd like: more honesty. Respect. Connection. Laughter. Play. Ease.
Write them down. Written intentions carry more power than intentions you only think. Then place them on your altar.
You'll receive a follow-up email reminding you and walking you through this. You don't need it figured out before we meet but you can begin noticing now, as you write your list, what you'd want in place of what you're releasing.
For the relationships that are ending
Write a goodbye letter. Then burn it, or bury it with offerings, flowers, stones, something you're willing to give.
Say thank you to the fire, or to the earth, for participating in this ritual with you.
Be Curious: "What Is Possible Now?"
Something has actually changed. There's been a deep clearing, and you're no longer carrying that baggage into the future.
Stay open, curious, to the possibility that things shift between you and the people in your life. And to the possibility that you respond to them differently than you used to. Watch for it rather than deciding in advance what it will look like.
What is possible now?
That's a wonderful mantra to carry in the days after.
If Something Still Feels Difficult
Cord cutting can also show us what other healing has become available.
If something continues to feel hard after this session, that's information that it may be pointing you toward a healing session. Pay attention, and reach out when you're ready.
Your session comes with an audio replay so you can listen again. You're welcome to request that it not be recorded.
I'm thrilled about this significant session with you.
