Preparing for Your Ceremonial Healing
♦︎
An important thing to know before anything else: however you show up is welcome.
If you do everything on this page or none of it, you're good. There is no right way to heal.
Trust this. You've stepped into ceremonial space.
Everything here can enhance your experience. None of it is required. The one thing worth bringing is intention. Whether you're seeking a specific outcome or a simple ask to feel better, spend a little time with what you want vs. what you don’t want.
Start Here: A Welcome
I'll introduce myself, walk you through what's on this page, and tell you how our time together goes.
The Meditation
If you only do one thing on this page, let it be this.
It supports the receptivity of the soul pieces and personal power returned to you. It prepares your energetic fields to integrate your healing with ease.
Questions to Sit With
When you arrive for your session, we'll create an intention for your healing together, built from whatever you discover here.
These questions take you deeper into the reasons that inspired this session and bring clarity to the desires underneath the obvious.
If we are intensely focused on what we don't want, we may not be asking for what we truly desire.
♦︎
If articulating your desires feels difficult, start by describing what you'd like to change, shift, or resolve. Then ponder or write down the thoughts these inquiries inspire:
What would it feel like if _____________ were resolved?
What would life look like? Who and what is in it?
What are you seeking more of in your life, or trying to call in?
The universe listens to energy. Emotions and qualities of life — love, joy, ease — are forms of energy. When we begin the healing with these identified, the unfolding of our session steers us toward those outcomes.
A note: you might notice thoughts like I don't deserve this or That's just not possible. Jot them down. Let this be a place to tell the truth without worrying about hurting anyone. This truth is just for now, and it needs to be heard too. Remember that you are ever-changing by nature.
Words to Repeat
These are not questions to answer or journal about.
I invite you to say them, read them, ponder them. Two of them are phrased as questions on purpose. You're not looking for the answer, you're loosening the assumption that there isn't one.
Say them out loud in the days before we meet. They soften the subconscious beliefs that get in the way.
"I am willing and ready to heal this [specific situation] and embrace a life filled with [desired results and feeling words]." Personalize this one to affirm your readiness to let go and to welcome what you actually want.
"What if everything I thought was impossible is possible now? This or something better." This dissolves your preconceived notions of impossibility and opens you to new awarenesses and new choice.
"How does it get better than this?" This invites greater possibility without the limits of your internal narrative about what is or isn't possible.
These questions, used like statements, help shift your energy. When your energy shifts, you affect the reality around you.
A Healing Altar
Do this if it feels good.
An altar can be as simple or as ornate as you wish.
Be guided by your preferences, your intuitive impulses, and your heritage cultures.

Choose a dedicated space. A table, a shelf, any surface that resonates with you.
Gather meaningful objects. Things that hold significance and represent your healing intentions: crystals, candles, sacred symbols, photographs, objects from nature.
Focus on your intention. Ask for the healing spirits to support you.
You're building the container now so it's ready to hold whatever comes, supporting all that will unfold after your session. It can become a place for reflection and gratitude. If you have a crystal or an object from your session, this is where to place it.
I'd love to see what you've created. Email me a photo at hello@amberjanehealing.com.
Preparing Your Space
We've been taught to figure out what we need and what will fix it. That's the part you're handing over.
Your job is to be curious. Where is spirit going to take us? What is possible in these healing realms? We are often surprised by what's actually influencing us-what's hidden, or sitting underneath the situation you're in.
Find a space free from interruption for the length of our session, and a position that lets your body relax while you stay present. Sit or lie down, whichever you prefer. You can watch me, or you can close your eyes and let yourself be guided through the healing story, songs, and sounds.
If you can, leave the rest of the day open. This is soul surgery, and you'll want somewhere soft to land and integrate.
Your only job is to receive.
If we're meeting online
An eye cover and headphones can deepen your experience. They let you engage your other senses and feel the energy as it moves around you. Your computer or phone speaker works perfectly well too.
If you have a clear quartz, keep it near you; my healing spirits will charge it during the session.
Have a candle within reach, either a real flame or battery-operated. Light it, and it will connect your space to mine for the duration of your session. If you've made an altar, that's where it goes.
If we're meeting in person
Bring your journal if you've been writing. A water bottle and a snack for afterward can be very helpful. If you're inspired, bring something sentimental for the altar. Offerings are traditional but never expected.
My space is near Mt. Tabor in SE Portland. It can be a wonderful place to go afterward.
Offerings
For centuries, it has been customary to give offerings to healing spirits and to practitioners-medicine women, tribal shamans, healers. If you'd like to take part in this tradition, here's what to know.
Customary offerings include flowers, chocolates, food, tobacco, herbs, crystals, feathers, or any gift that represents your gratitude. People practice this all over the world today, and somewhere back in your own line, your people did it too. There is no right or wrong way to do this, it is a physical gesture and a reflection of what's in your heart.
Offerings can be placed on your altar or mine, or given to me directly. The healing spirits receive the vitality in them, whether they were made, purchased, or given. The act of giving is what draws you in. It's a way of taking part in your own healing with your hands.
An offering to your healer can be presented at any time, though it's commonly done at the beginning of a session.
Other Questions You might have:
What happens during a session? We start with an intake, where you share your intention and your goals in your own words. From there I work with shamanic drum, rattles, bells, singing bowls, and sound.
What will it feel like? Many people experience body sensations and energy moving. Others receive messages, downloads, or find themselves on their own dream-like journeys. It's also common to fall asleep or to have gaps in memory. All of this is normal and completely okay — you are still receiving the healing in a safe and protected container.
What about afterward? You may feel elated or dreamy and need some time alone. Honor that. Your after-care page will be sent to you immediately after our session.
Not every healing is rainbows and unicorns. Brain fog, extreme tiredness, bathroom visits, and emotional shifts can all occur, and they're indications that the healing is still unfolding. If they persist longer than 12 hours, get in touch. It may mean you need additional support, another session, or an adjustment to the next one.
Can I bring someone? Yes. It's traditional to have a witness present, though it's become less common in our modern world. If you bring someone, please make sure they can remain quiet and fully present for the entire session.
If you're already working with a counselor, practitioner, or medical professional, I recommend letting them know about these sessions. The healing we do together complements any other modality you're using.
I am overjoyed for you.
My mission as a healer is to reunite people with their divine wholeness and, at times, to demand their soul's sovereignty.
I have seen clients take quantum leaps, and I know that's possible for you.
Healing doesn't have to be hard, continuous work, it can be a journey of personal expansion, relief, and peace.
I look forward to meeting you during your session.
