Across cultures and through the ages, the rattle has been one of our oldest ceremonial instruments—used to accompany prayer, healing, and celebration. In this two-day immersive workshop, we gather in a ceremonial community setting to bring a sacred tool into form through ancestral remembering and intentional craft.
Under the guidance of Cass Estes and I, you will create your own animal hide rattle with a wooden handle. This is a slow, intentional process where we honor the materials, the lineage of the craft, and your own personal journey.
What to Expect:
Day One (Creation): We begin with an opening ceremony and shared intention. You will be guided through the first stages of stitching and shaping your rattle, which will then be set to dry overnight.
Day Two (Completion): We gather to complete and adorn your rattle, refining its sound with natural elements. We will close our time together with a ceremony to initiate and activate our rattles.
This workshop is for you if: You are a beginning student, healing practitioner, ceremony leader, or anyone stepping deeper into spiritual practice who feels called to work with sacred sound. All materials (hide, beads, paint, and natural elements) are provided, though you are invited to bring a small, personal object to place inside your rattle.
